Designed to give optimum support and surface area to larger-based medium-and large-format cameras, the Bogen-Manfrotto 468MGRC4 incorporates the same "world first" hydraulic ball-locking system as the 468MG, and uses Manfrotto's heavy-duty RC4 Rapid Connect plate. This plate system is already used on many of Manfrotto's studio photography heads, such as the 405, 410 and 329RC4. Using hydraulics instead of a mechanical system produces a super-tight lock from a minimal turn of the locking knob, without sacrificing the smoothness of the ball's movement when unblocked. The 468MGRC4 meets the demands of professional photographers who require a light weight head but at the same time being able to support heavy camera loads up to 35 pounds! The 468MGRC4 borrows the popular features found on Manfrotto's standard range of ball heads -- such as independent pan and tilt locks with a 360-degree pan movement and +90 to -90 degree tilt movement. To keep weight low, the head is made of magnesium; and to provide smooth movements, the 1 1/4-inch aluminum ball is Teflon coated. The oversized ball locking knob also allows for easy control even when using gloves. Completing this masterpiece, a graduated panoramic base and a 410PL quick release camera plate. Features include: Sturdy all-metal construction. Materials, design and construction techniques have been carefully selected to help save weight without sacrificing stability or strength Two bubble spirit levels built in for accurate alignment The double 90-degree groove (one on each side of the head) means switching from landscape to portrait is convenient however you're set up The 410PL quick release plate system offers a broader footprint ensuring a large stable point of contact between camera and plate, which improves stability with larger heavier camera equipment. The sliding screw adapts to the precise configuration of the camera. This head features a secondary security lock so you can't accidentally release the plate (and camera) without meaning to. The lock stops the quick release lever from opening fully. A separate lock on the panoramic axis allows for rotation adjustment or panning to be carried out without losing framing. Separate control for pre-setting the friction of the ball when unblocked. What's in the Box: Ball head, quick release plate.
